Our Genetic standard

Genetics play a crucial role in the health and productivity of a herd. Selecting breeding animals with desirable traits and maintaining genetic diversity are all important factors to consider when selecting genetics and managing a herd. We value EBV and Indexing data as an important tool in our genetic selection process!

Our Curve Bender

U8J Cattle Co are excited to welcome Phoenix Park Solar S771 PV (HXP21S771) as a walk on sire. We feel that he is a real curve bender with his outstanding muscling, carcass, EBVs and overall indexing. We can’t wait to measure his impact in our herd and potentially in your herd. Please contact us if you are interested in semen or an inspection.

Sires and Females

The genetics of our sires and cows play a critical role in the quality of the offspring produced. When selecting sires and females for breeding, we consider their genetic traits, such as calving ease, fertility, growth, carcass, structure, phenotype, profitability and disease resistance.

Overall, understanding the genetics of sires and females is crucial for the success of breeding programs. By carefully selecting breeding pairs with desirable genetic traits, producers can improve the quality of their livestock and increase their profitability.
